The COBB Front Mount Intercooler Kit for the Subaru WRX offers a significant increase in overall airflow as well as more efficient cooling than top mounted intercoolers. The most unique aspect of the COBB FMIC is the use of a vertical flow core. The Garrett core comes in a 24" x 8" x 3.5" and flows from bottom to top. Packaging in the car benefits significantly from this core design, as does pipe routing. The end tanks are formed sheet aluminum and taper to create even pressure across both sides of the core, maximizing cooling efficiency. Each end tank is finished off with a billet aluminum machined 2.5" inlet/outlet Once assembled, the cores are finished in either black or silver powder coat.
